The Adamello-Brenta Natural Park
The Adamello Brenta Natural Park (620.51 sq km) is the largest protected area in Trentino. Established in 1967, it extends into western Trentino and includes the Adamello and Brenta mountain ranges .
The environment of the Park is typical of the central-southern Alps, characterized by mainly coniferous forests that cover the slopes of the mountains up to 1800 m above sea level. In 2008 the Adamello Brenta Geopark became part of the European and World Network of Geoparks under the aegis of UNESCO.
